The All Progressives Congress party has discredited the claims of Kidnap Kingpin, Hamisu Wadume, that the party had paid him the sum of N13million in the past presidential election.
The kingpin had claimed in a media report yesterday that APC paid him N13million as campaign fund during the general elections, but he spent only N7million.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu in a statement on Saturday challenged Wadume to name his sponsors as the ruling party (APC) would never disburse cash for kidnappers and murderer.
“It is expected that the alleged kidnapper, having come face-to-face with justice, would throw whatever he could lay his hands on into fray.
“In any case, our party did not have budget for thugs. Unlike the period when the ruling party dipped hands into the public treasury to fund political campaigns and elections, APC had to rely on its own resources”.
Wadume who was earlier rearrested in Kano has been in the middle of rife between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police over the murder of three police operatives and two civilians by soldiers in Ibi town, Taraba state.
